Thea Galehouse, adrift and under-motivated, is a junior at Manhattan’s Stuyvesant High School when she meets senior Will Weston and makes. Hooked by Catherine Greenman is not your typical pregnancy novel. There is no ‘ you will get pregnant and you will die.’ Hooked opens pretty. I am not a huge fan of teenage pregnancy so I wasn’t sure how much I was going to love Hooked, but Catherine Greenman does not try to.

When their son is born, Thea thinks everything will work out – they rent a nice apartment together, Will goes to school, and Thea watches the baby.

Built on the Genesis Framework. I am still undecided on my final verdict as far as he goes.

{Book Review} Hooked by Catherine Greenman – Book Briefs

Hooked is the story of not just Thea and Will, but of their whole families. It went pretty fast, and the book takes place over a span of about 3 years from the very beginning, to the very end. I’ve greenmaan been drawn to books that are realistic fiction, and this book definitely falls into that category. Will lands a job as a summer greemnan at a law firm and Thea stays home preparing for the baby.

Thea got very dependent on Will, which is another pet-peeve of mine. Sign up here to receive your FREE alerts. Unexpected and also a bit underwhelming, but hy a good book. With a flighty club-owner mom and a standoffish, recovering-alcoholic dad, Thea has made her own way in her hometown of New York, attending the prestigious and competitive Stuyvesant High School.

That would have been nice to know at the beginning.

I guess I was in a bit of a reading slump with this one, and for a while I lost interest, but in the long run I ended hookde finishing it and thinking that hey, this book is actually hookec of interesting.

It was just too good to be true, and that took away some of the believability for me. I know this is totally random and weird, but I got this book out of the library, and I think I may have been the first to read it.

Thea’s love for her even-unborn son, Ian, is obvious and overwhelming. I wanted more from Thea’s changing friendship with her best friend Vanessa and sometimes wasn’t sure what to think of the romance between Will and Thea. Will Thea be able to make it work? I hookes expecting more of an easier plotline, but it actually goes along with a pretty in depth feel and alot of thought within the story When Thea finds out she is pregnant at first she plans to have an abortion but she can’t go through with it.

Magic Study Maria V. This novel broke my heart so many times and ripped it from my chest, there were so many moments when I thought I could not take it anymore and I was dying inside for Thea.

Well, except for the fact that hoked doesn’t wash her hair. Thea’s mother is consumed with herself and her life. And then after Ian was born, Will just started going downhill in my eyes. View all 6 comments.

No, it wasn’t perfect. Though I liked this book and what it tried to convey, I was left feeling like there is nothing that will make me remember it a year from now.

I would reccomend this book to students in their freshman year. About Hooked Thea Galehouse has always known how to take care of herself.

May 08, Pages Young Adult. So, yeah, a lot of is ridiculous fantasy, but enough of the book was realistically-enough written hint: We also get to grow with her as her independence becomes stronger as does her passions to make the best life for her and her son.

I would classify cathrine as young adult fiction.
